Internet Safety

At Trotts Hill, all children learn how to stay safe online and are taught the following:

 

  • Follow the SMART rules
  • Be nice online
  • Tell a trusted adult if anything happens online that is worrying, upsetting or you don’t understand
  • Keep personal details private
  • ThinkB4Upost, send or forward
  • Do not share passwords
  • Don’t meet up with anyone you know only online, and tell a trusted adult if someone asks
  • Be careful with a webcam and social media
  • Remember websites, games and films all have age restrictions.

Internet Safety newsletters

Hertfordshire County produce a termly newsletter which offers parents guidance and advice about eSafety in order to help keep children safe. 

Marilyn Hawes talk

 

Today we had a vital talk from Marilyn Hawes (founder of “Freedom From Abuse”). Marilyn worked with parents, staff and governors as part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding and online safety.
