Trotts Hill Primary School and Nursery

Education Mental Health Practitioner

NHS England and NHS Improvement are rolling out Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) as part of a Trailblazer programme across the country. There are new roles created called Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) who have been trained in evidence-based interventions and provide a link between local schools and children's and young people's mental health services.

Our link EMHP, Vicky Tuff, works with Trotts Hill one day a week providing;

  • Evidence-based interventions with parents to support children with mild-moderate mental health needs e.g. anxiety (parent support only at primary level)
  • Group sessions for children displaying similar mild-moderate needs
  • Whole class/group deliver of 'Brain Buddies', a programme that teaches emotional regulation skills
  • Transition support for Year 6
  • Staff consultations to support children
  • Staff training and parent support

Please get in touch with the school if you feel this intervention support would benefit you and your child.
