Transition to new classes
Starting a new class is an exciting milestone, but it can also bring uncertainty for some children. To help make this change as smooth and positive as possible, we have created transition booklets for every class at Trotts Hill Primary School and Nursery.
Each booklet introduces your child's new classroom, teacher(s), familiar routines and key information to help them feel prepared and confident before returning to school in September.
We encourage families to look through the booklet together over the summer holidays. Reading it several times, talking about the photographs, and answering any questions your child may have can help reduce worries and build excitement about the new school year.
Every child experiences change differently, and these booklets are designed to support all pupils, particularly those who benefit from knowing what to expect. If you have any questions or feel your child may need additional support with transition, please don't hesitate to contact the school.
